Freaking Out Cancer - Relay 2009

Well, we worked our butts off all year and Relay weekend 2009 certainly came in like a lion with a huge thunderstorm in Bucyrus Friday morning and storms on the radar for all of Friday night. Needless to say, we were freaking out a bit. Ultimately, they did end up having everyone pack up over the night on Friday and head home but it seemed to actually work out ok because everyone had a lot of energy when they returned on Saturday since we weren't up all night long. Saturday seemed to be a big success as the Relay invited the community out for a kid's carnival with each team hosting a different carnival game (we were the ones I think all of the parents dreaded as we had the goldfish game) since the overall Relay theme was Under the Big Top for a Cure. Keagan did great at his first Relay but it'll be much more fun next year when he's up walking around. Overall, DBC reached our goal of being the top fundraising team, bringing in over $22,000 for the year. Another year down and so begins the planning for Relay 2010!
