Beard Family Reunion

Jeff's uncle and aunt, Dick and Sheila, have a little family reunion every year up near Tiffin and this year, it just so happened to fall the day after the Keith Urban concert so we were feeling a little rough and got a slow start. But it actually worked out well because the reunion is usually on the day of Gordy's first football game but was a bit earlier in August this year so we could stay and hang out all day. The weather was hot but was nice to sit out in the country under a big shade tree catching up with the fam. We also finally got to meet Keagan's younger cousin, Josh, who's a few months younger.

Bet Keagan's smiling to himself thinking, "I bet my mommy and daddy wish I would take a nap like Josh!"

Wishing for a Ride on the Big Green Tractor

In addition to Kenny, Jeff and I have also become Jason Aldean groupies (mostly I love him...er, I mean, his music) so we weren't missing the Jason Aldean/Keith Urban show at Nationwide this weekend. We got our tickets with one of my friends from work and the Beards were in rare form for the country celebration. We headed downtown to Frog Bear for a few drinks before the concert and then took our sweet floor seats just in time for Jason to take the stage. The show was FABULOUS...so much energy and so much fun. When we sat, we saw this little stage just behind us so thought we would for sure get some close up action. We were not disappointed when Keith jumped off the stage, walked through the crowd and played a few songs from the little stage, about 30 feet from us! So much fun with a night topped off with meeting up with my friend from ND that I haven't talked to in years and Matt, Jenna and Kyle who we haven't talked to in, well, days probably.

Parking in a nearby garage, $10. Tickets to the show, $100. Hearing Jeff Beard yell out "Keith Urban, I LOVE YOU!!" in a dark, quiet arena between his head banging and air guitar display, PRICELESS!!

I mean, we might as well have been on stage :)

Saturday Afternoon with the Fam and the Kiddos

My aunt and uncle from Utah, Jennie and Roger, were in town for a bit so Vicki had a cookout and we spent the afternoon enjoying the nice day, playing with the kids and playing a little cornhole. We also got a surprise visit from my great aunt, Betty, who got to meet Keagan and we got to meet the newest addition to the family, Scott and Krista's little man, Jesse. Good food and good fun and Keagan was all tuckered out for the day - hard for a 4 month old to nap with all the little ones running around but that's ok. Soon enough, it'll be him trying to keep up with his big cousins!

Buy Me Some Peanuts and Crackjacks...We thought we would NEVER get back

Randy and Aimee got us Tribe tickets against the Tigers for Mother's and Father's Day (and arranged the all important babysitter) so the four of us headed up to Cleveland one Saturday afternoon to participate in America's past time. We got there early and headed to the Winking Lizard for some grub and cocktails before heading over to the Jake (I'll never accept Progressive Field). The game was a low scoring, boring affair until about the 9th inning when things were tied up...and stayed that way through 3 more innings! We definitely got our money's worth with a 12 inning game but were exhausted and ready for the long drive home. Not to mention to get away from all the Tiger fans that seemed to have made their way down for the game. Well, except for one, of course, since Jeff plans to stick around for awhile!

Cheers!

Have another root beer, Sis!

No idea who this is...just thought should probably include some pics of the actual game

From Kindergarten to BABIES!

My friend since kindergarten, Jaime, and her son, Conner, were in Bucyrus from D.C. to celebrate her brother's engagement a few weeks ago so we got together so the kids could meet each other. Conner's 18 months and was none too happy to share his mommy with the baby although he was quite excited to see the baby. It was so good to see Jaime (and later, Bob and Mike too!) and meet the little guy. Hard to believe we've come so far!

Four Month Check-up

We had Keagan's four month check up a few weeks ago and he got his next round of shots. He weighed in at 14 lbs, 15 oz and was 25 inches long - both of which were in the 75th percentile, which was down from the 90th percentile at his two month check up. He seemed to pass all of Dr. Jacobs' tests with flying colors and we'll be starting cereal at five months. Hard to believe our baby is already graduating from just his bottle (which he holds completely by himself these days)! Recent pic of the little guy...
